Louisa Robertson

Louisa Robertson is a highly experienced producer and arts executive with over 25 years in the Australian cultural sector. She has delivered some of the nation’s most ambitious live events, with a focus on opera, festivals, and major outdoor performances.

As the founding Executive Producer of Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour, Louisa led this world-renowned production from its inception in 2011, overseeing all aspects of creative development, technical delivery, and stakeholder engagement. Each year, she coordinated the transformation of Sydney’s waterfront into a temporary opera house, managing the complexities of large-scale site builds, environmental planning and artistic vision. Her work consistently brought opera to new audiences and set new benchmarks for outdoor performance in Australia.

Louisa’s career has also included senior roles at the Brisbane Festival and Queensland Music Festival, where she produced a wide range of works including international touring productions, new Australian commissions, and arts documentaries. She is particularly proud of her work on Kalkadoon Man, a film documenting Indigenous musician William Barton’s journey to reconnect with traditional cultural practices through music.

With a passion for championing emerging artists and broadening access to classical music, Louisa brings creativity, strategic leadership, and a deep understanding of production to her role on the Italian Opera Foundation Australia Board.
